Offre de Post-Doc : Rational design of hybrid particles for investigating the ultra-fast energy transfer at the nanoscale
Context.
This project is devoted, combining theoritical and experimental approaches, to quantitatively investigate vibrational and thermal energy transfer at the nanoscale using hybrid metal-based nano-objects. The objectives are to understand and optimize the vibrational quality factors of the nano-objects and to investigate the modalities of heat transfer within a hybrid particle. This project is developed under a new government-funded (ANR) project.
The main tasks of the post-doc researcher are:
- Colloidal synthesis of hybrid nano-objects with well-controlled form and size
- Control the gap between two (or more) neighbor components within the nanohybrids
- Full characterization using standard nanoscience techniques
- To learn and perform basic optical and thermal measurements at single particle level in collaboration with physicists of Institut Lumière Matière
Candidate and Position
Candidates should hold a PhD in chemistry, nanoscience, plasmonics or a discipline relevant to the theme of the project, with a strong expertise in colloidal synthesis. Experiences in the following areas would be useful: surface functionalization, electron microscopy (SEM, TEM) and optical spectroscopy. The chemist should be capable of working as a team mate and should invest his/herself in the collective group. A stong record of publication in peer-reviewed litterature attesting to these capabilities is required. Additional responsabilities include training and supervision of students.
Duration of the post-doc position:18 months
Starting date: March 2021
Location: ICMCB, 87 av. du Dr A. Schweitzer, 33608 PESSAC, FRANCE
