Subject: Optical Detection of Chiral Molecules on Plasmonic Nanostructures
Location
Institut des NanoSciences de Paris – UMR 7588-INSP
Laboratoire de Réactivité de Surface - UMR 7197-LRS
Sorbonne Université, Campus Pierre et Marie Curie
4, place Jussieu 75252 Paris Cedex05
Context
A post-doctoral position is available at the Institut des NanoSciences de Paris and the Laboratoire de Réactivité de Surface, two laboratories of the Faculty of Science and Engineering Pierre and Marie Curie of Sorbonne Université. The post-doctoral position is funded for 18 months (fixed term) by the LabEx MATISSE. The starting date of the position is flexible but no later than October 2018.
Project
The project deals with the functionalization of plasmonic nanostructures with chiral molecules with the aim of achieving a sensitive detection of chiral biomolecules. The successful applicant will be in charge of metasurfaces engineering, controlled grafting of the chiral molecules and characterization of the plasmonic properties by optical measurements.
Skills
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in planar surface functionalization. Mastering surface characterization techniques (IR, XPS and/or Raman) is also required. A good knowledge of Plasmonics and/or Chemistry of Biomolecules is beneficial.
Motivation, initiative and autonomy are required as well as good communication skills. The candidate will be involved in the supervision of Master and PhD students. Good skills in written and spoken English are mandatory.
Application
Applications will include a motivation letter, CV, full list of publications, and contact details of two referees, to be sent by email to: bruno.gallas@insp.jussieu.fr and souhir.boujday@sorbonne-universite.fr
